3. Beeschurgers

Some people don’t like it when you call plant-based food the same you would if it wasn’t plant-based. “It’s not a burger without meat” and “It’s not milk if it doesn’t come from a cow”. Ok, so there you go—not cheeseburgers, but Beeschurgers! If you’re craving burgers and fries, this is absolutely your go-to option: delicious and completely vegan. This small but mighty burger joint specializes in creating plant-based burgers that are packed with flavor and nestled in a soft bun. Whether you’re in the mood for a classic burger or something with a bit more zing, like the kimchi craze or the seaside churger, Beeschurgers has something for every taste. Their commitment to sustainability is their main trade, making it an excellent choice for a casual meal that’s both satisfying and eco-conscious.

4. Plenty

Piet Heinstraat is a cute street full of nice shops, restaurants, and cafes, including the 100% plant-based Plenty. Not only kitchen but also a coffeehouse with a plethora of freshly made sweet temptations which can vary daily. The cinnamon roll is a classic, but your eyes and taste buds might also be tempted by cookies and all sorts of cakes, baked and raw. You can pair them with tea, coffee, cappuccino, chai/matcha/golden latte, and all the classic warm and cold drinks you can think of.
Just one look at Plenty’s menu and you will realize this is also the perfect place for breakfast or brunch, with its pancakes, chia pudding, granola, and even croissants! 5. Birdflower

It may not be as centrally located and well-known as some of the other veggie-friendly eateries in The Hague, but it is certainly a hidden gem for anyone looking for amazingly good vegan comfort food. It’s a small place, so you might find it packed during peak hours, which also tells you how much the locals appreciate it. It is not 100% plant-based, but the cruelty-free choices are really a lot, including vegan donuts! Along with other sweet classics like brownies and cookies, or savory alternatives like kimchi focaccia. And by the way, the flavors of the donuts change every 3 months, following the seasons. Long story short, this is definitely a great spot for breakfast, lunch or a coffee with a sweet temptation.

Just a few steps away from the well-known Grote Markt square, this cozy eatery, as you might have already guessed, focuses on two iconic dishes: falafel and hummus. Their falafel is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, perfectly complemented by a selection of fresh salads, pickles, and warm pita bread. Pizza – Mammamia, Pazze e Pizze and more!

Luckily, a good pizza can easily be enjoyed by anyone who doesn’t want to consume animal products. What matters the most is the quality of the ingredients and the pizza dough itself, the base which welcomes all sorts of yummy toppings and creative pairings. The good news is, there are multiple places in The Hague providing just that! Long story short, Vegan pizza lovers: The Hague won’t disappoint!

9. Mammamia

Let’s start with Mammamia, an Italian restaurant offering many typical Italian dishes, with a pizza menu that always includes at least 4 vegan options, all delicious. For example, depending on the season, among the toppings you might find, vegan mozzarella, champignon, pumpkin cream, truffle, vegan salami... for pizzas that can be both traditional or with an international flavor.

Now, if you know about Italian pizza, you also know that in Italy there are different styles of pizza, and if you ask us, each one of them is the best! There is the delicious Neapolitan with the soft and high crust, a remarkable culinary experience. But there is also the crunchy heaven that is the Roman style pizza. And let’s not forget that pizza can be round, sure, but also squared if it is “al taglio”.

10. Pazze e Pizze

If we tickled your curiosity (and tastebuds), you might want to stop by Pazze e Pizze. Their pizza al taglio is baked on large plates and then cut into pieces, a.k.a. “tranci”. Good food is always worth to be consumed while seating and relaxing, but the great thing about pizza al taglio is that it is also perfect to be savored on the go. Check the menu, among the many Italian specialties, you will also find a couple of vegan options, and even more of vegetarian ones.

11. The Vegan Pizza Bar

If you want to go 100% plant-based, the Vegan Pizza Bar is your go-to restaurant, and you’ll be spoilt for choice (and by the way, the menu also includes appetizers, sides, pasta dishes, and desserts, all creative and delicious).

Finally, there are pizzerie where you can have very good Italian pizza and ask the staff for a vegan option. Vincenzo’s is a famous one, they have multiple locations in the city, and they always have one vegan pizza. Another great one is EVO, in the Scheveningen area. Their Neapolitan style pizza is very good, and even if they don’t really have a vegan option on their menu, they will try to accommodate plant-based customers. As long as the result is up to their quality standards, of course—you can’t go wild asking for ingredients to be added/removed, so you’ll have to trust their experience and hope the seasonal ingredients offer a good enough combo. You can check with them when you make your reservation.

More delicious hotspots

If you crave Sushi, De Sushimeisjes offers a contemporary approach to Japanese cuisine, combining traditional sushi with innovative fusion flavors, in two different locations in The Hague. And in addition to the wide selection of nigiri, sashimi, and specialty rolls, Sushimeisjes also caters to plant-based diners with a few mouthwatering vegan options.

Is it ramen you fancy? Outside of the hustle and bustle of the city, Ohashi is possibly the best choice in town for a good ramen experience, and plant-based customers will be just as satisfied as the omnivores ones. The menu includes vegan miso ramen (also spicy, if you prefer), tantanmen, and salad ramen. Plus, croquettes and a variety of toppings to choose from!

Truth to be told, the choice for Asian restaurants in The Hague is extremely wide and varied, and vegan or vegetarian options are in most cases not difficult to find. Just have a look at the menu beforehand or ask the staff once you’re there. You’ll easily find something tasty that works for you.

14. A La Tarte

Desserts are easy for vegetarians, not as much for vegans. It is very common to find plant-based options for appetizers, sides, and main courses, but usually, dessert is a tricky area of the menu. This is why it is awesome to have a place like A La Tarte, a little shop in the very heart of the city, where you can find plenty of sweet treats. No sitting area (it is very little indeed), everything is to take away. So, if you are going for dinner to a restaurant that doesn’t provide a plant-based dessert, or you just had lunch somewhere, but the menu didn’t include anything sweet without animal products, you definitely might want to stop by A La Tarte.

15. Café Restaurant Zéta

Looking for a place centrally located, open all day, where you can have a coffee, a meal, some laptop time, a drink? Zéta is your match! You’ll find it in Grote Markt, the famous square located in the very heart of the city, with plenty of bars and restaurants and always filled with cheerful people. Open the menu and be amazed by the huge amount of vegan options available! Sustainability is key here, hence the attention to planet-friendly dishes.
